Our Cub program is for boys and girls, ages 8 to 10.
The Cub program starts in September and goes to the beginning of June. We meet at the Town and Country Centre on Monday nights. If you want more information about registration or our program, please contact us at cubs@airdrieadventurescouts.com and someone would be glad to answer your questions.
Challenging hikes, weekend camps, and an introduction to water activities like canoeing or kayaking are just a few of the fun outdoor adventures that Cub Scouts enjoy.
With the Cub motto of "Do Your Best" front and centre, Cub Scouts are encouraged to try new and more challenging activities. Learning important first aid skills, paddling a canoe for the first time, or leading a game at camp will open the door for Cubs to try other adventures they never thought possible.
Along the way, Cub Scouts learn how to take care of themselves and work as a team – and most importantly have a lot of fun!
The Cubs learn by doing so we have a great badge program that will allow them to learn different skills and information. Each time they do things, at school, at home or in other programs these skills can be applied to requirements for the different badges. To learn more about the badge program you can go to www.scouts.ca/ca/cub-scouts-badges-and-awards and learn what great badges Cubs can earn and find out more about their requirements.
Each year our Cubs works on 2 of the six stars as a pack. You can go to www.scouts.ca/ca/cub-scouts-badges-and-awards to learn more about the program.
The Scout Tracker is a program that anyone can use to manage their badge tracking. It doesn't replace the Cub book but allows you an opportunity to manage their progress with a bit more control and ease. Go to Scouts Tracker for Cubs and create a username and password. It is free to use. If you use your email address that your youth is registered with it will make it even easier for your Cub leader to review requirements and add information to the Cub's program.
Sometimes kids do extraordinary things. If your child has done something "wow" worthy let us know. Sometimes it deserves a little of recognition and sometimes it is nice to hear "That was very cool!" and we are great at doing that. Let us know what they have done and what is going on in their lives so we can enjoy their successes too.
